Mitsusada Matsuki’s Long-Awaited Second Album, “The Night Atelier,” Is Complete! Mitsusada Matsuki—the maverick artist who suddenly emerged from the jazz scene into the world of pop—has released her long-awaited second album, her first in three years!! Following the high acclaim and widespread media coverage of her first album, “THE MAGICAL TOUCH,” released in November 2023, she has continued her momentum unabated, energetically releasing three digital singles in 2024 (May “Moon,” August: “The Glow of Fangs,” and November: “Rebellious Wings”). Furthermore, Matsuki Misada demonstrated her versatility beyond her own music by writing an original collaboration track with chelmico’s Suzuki Mahiko for a commercial (Oedo Onsen Monogatari), providing songs to artist Natsumi Kiyoura, and—in March—producing and performing five J-POP cover songs as part of a J-WAVE program. Amid this significant musical growth, in 2025 she released “2019,” a compilation of five tracks originally released on SoundCloud, YouTube, and other platforms in 2019, during the early days of her career. She handled both the mixing and mastering herself, and for the artwork, she used her own artist photos from the early days of her career. Then, in 2026, she released her long-awaited second album! According to Matsuki Misada herself, “This album encapsulates the home-recording aspect of my music, created while holed up at home.” Having gained experience with recording live instruments on her first album, she produced this album as a return to her roots as a home-recording artist. Regarding the album title, she explains, “Since I’m always working late at night, I named it ‘The Night Atelier’ to convey the meaning of an album for the night, sent from my nighttime studio.” In addition to previously released tracks, the album features four completely new songs, as well as a slightly revamped self-cover of “Late Show,” a song she previously provided to the artist Saki.
