Description:

Once upon a time, there were Beatles in Japan. A journey to find 50 fragments of Happi End and its surroundings. A quartet of four that is still talked about in music history. Where did their footprints come from? And where are the seeds that led to the subsequent rise of city pop? No, here we must first shine a light on their achievements in breaking down the "Japanese rock controversy," which was the eve of the rise of city pop. The tram journey to their profound roots begins now. Disc-1 contains a variety of sound veins, including Buffalo Springfield, which inspired the formation of the band, and Moby Grape, which Haruomi Hosono was fascinated by. M-4, which was the occasion of the encounter between Eiichi Otaki and Hosono, M-16, which is related to Van Dyke Parks, and M-15 and M-21, which influenced the famous song "Hai Kara Kuchi," are included. In Disc-2, the band mentions songs they performed in their repertoire before Happi End, as well as numbers (M-13, M-14) that influenced the lyrical world of Takashi Matsumoto, who later became a great and successful songwriter. The film carefully analyzes the yearning patterns that formed the foundation of their music, and delves into the origins of the original experiences of each of the band members, including Shigeru Suzuki. The film also touches on a ray of light that leads to Sugar Babe's band name and the names of Otaki's albums, "Long Vacation" and "EACH TIME," and vividly leads the viewer to the final station. This work is not the work of Happi End or the members themselves. Commentary: Masayuki Ishiura DISC-1 / ROOTS DISC-2 / FAVORITES (From the manufacturer's information)
