Captain", the eternal bible for baseball boys, comes to life on Blu-ray! The masterpiece (movie version + TV series) animated adaptation of Akio Chiba's masterpiece. The masterpiece of manga artist Akio Chiba. Captain" began serialization in 1972, and the life-size protagonists grew up through hard work and suffering, which was a clear departure from the sporty works of the past. Including the sequel "Play Ball," the series ran for seven years, and in 1980, "Captain" was made into an animated TV special to capitalize on the popularity of the series. This was so well received that an animated movie was released during the summer vacation of the following year. In 1983, a TV series was started and a total of 26 episodes were broadcast, and in the 21st century, "Play Ball" was also made into an animated series. The first HD-remastered Blu-ray release of the series has been made for permanent preservation! The first HD-remastered Blu-ray edition of this masterpiece baseball anime, which depicts the straight-faced youth of the ballplayers who devote their youth to baseball, will be preserved for posterity...Thirty years after Akio Chiba's death, the film has been remastered in HD from the original negative and released on Blu-ray as a complete box set with special features.
