Peter Dijkstra and the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music present this pious Christmas oratorio with a fine solo cast. This radiant and glorious world is told in a clean performance with a tempo setting as fast as Gardiner's legendary speed. The performance by the members of the Berlin Academy of Ancient Music was also breathtakingly vivid. Not a moment was lost. Swiss soprano Harnisch, already well known in Japan, is a trusted member of the Abbado family with a wide repertoire ranging from religious to contemporary works. Mezzo-soprano Anke Fonding came to Japan in 2010 and sang Mahler's "Resurrection" under the baton of Markus Stenz. Many people may have been enchanted by her singing voice.Schmidt is a German-born tenor who sang in the Regensburg choir as a boy and later studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he sang Bach (1675-1750) under the direction of Rilink in 2005.
