The band was formed in the mid-1990s in Volos, a city in central Greece, with Kyriakos Balanos (G.Key) at the helm. The band released two demos, contributed songs to the omnibus disc "Fire And Steel 2", and performed live and at festivals in Greece, and continued to perform well, but The band disbanded in 2001. However, in 2018, 17 years later, Kyriakos reunited SILENT WINTER with a new lineup. The new singer, Mike Rivas, is a talented high-tone singer who has been in a number of bands, including as a touring singer for Timo Turchi since 2017, and has been a major contributor to SILENT WINTER's revival. The band released a six-song mini-album titled "The War Is Here" in June 2018, which was well received around the world, and the following year, 2019, the band took a big leap forward with the release of their long-awaited first full-length album "The Circles Of Hell".In 2021, the band released their second album, "Empire Of Sins", a new album that further refines their heroic, epic, speedy, and dramatic power metal sound. Empire Of Sins" is released! Reminiscent of Michael Kiske, singer Mike Rivas' emotional high tones are sure to attract and captivate any German metal fan. It is an exciting, fast-paced, melodic power metal work of royalty. The album features a metal cover of pop star Belinda Carlisle's hit song "Leave A Light On," as well as two singles to be released in 2020 (Nightfall will be re-recorded in 2021) as bonus tracks for the Japanese edition! Bonus tracks on the Japanese version! Liner: Includes lyrics and bilingual translation, latest interviews with the band members, and bonus tracks for the Japanese edition.
