Profile of Naoya Otsuka: Naoya Otsuka was born in Tokyo, Japan. She studied piano under Minoru Harada, Yasuko Takahashi, and Hisako Okano, in addition to receiving basic musical training at Victor Boys Choir. After graduating from the Department of Musicology at Tokyo University of the Arts, he completed his graduate studies in harpsichord at the same university (Doctor of Music). He also graduated from the Department of Harpsichord and Organ at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music. After returning to Japan in 1999, he studied harpsichord and organ in Tokyo Since returning to Japan in 1999, he has been active as a harpsichord, organ, and clavichord player based in Tokyo, and also conducts workshops for those who are new to these instruments in various locations. In recent years, he has also been highly acclaimed for his conducting activities, especially in Baroque vocal works such as "Messiah" (Handel) and "Mass in B minor" (Bach).He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, a part-time lecturer at Kunitachi College of Music, and an organ project advisor at the Miyazaki Prefectural Arts Center and the Saitama Arts Center.
