Let Our Youth Shine! Let’s Play the Melodies Born of Our Bonds! Founded in 1955, the Aiko University Meiden High School Wind Ensemble is a prestigious brass band program that boasts Japan’s finest track record: over 70 years of history and 46 appearances at the All-Japan Band Competition National Finals (including 17 Gold Awards). The club has competed in numerous competitions, including the All-Japan Marching Contest and the All-Japan Ensemble Contest, achieving outstanding results such as the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award. In addition, the club holds as many as 60 concerts annually, including summer concerts, local events, and guest performances at elementary and junior high schools. Together with its 200 members, the club values human connection through music. We recorded their 61st Annual Concert live on January 7, 2026, at the Forest Hall of the NGK Civic Hall (Nagoya Civic Hall). The performance captured their beautiful harmonies and the sense of unity and energy on stage as they passionately performed pieces ranging from "In the Fragrant Wind of May" (composed by Hiroshi Hoshina) and "Queen of Sheba" (composed by Respighi) to "Nostalgic Showa Melodies," "Deep Purple Medley," and “Saturday Night.” This recording captures their beautiful harmonies, performed with great passion, as well as the sense of unity and energy that fills the stage with youthful vigor. Their robust and authentic performances, coupled with their sincere dedication to music, captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression. Also not to be missed is Alfred Reed’s masterpiece “Hymn to Jerusalem,” performed at the enthusiastic request of the choir members. Sony Music
