Description:

Japan's leading world-class female keyboardist, Himiko Kikuchi's second album for CBS Sony, released in 1988, is now available exclusively at Tower Records in the latest 2023 remastered edition. (Original release: November 21, 1988/CBS Sony/32DH-5148) She has performed with various artists such as Takuro Yoshida and Junko Ohashi, and was a member of Nobuo Hara's Sharps & Flats and Minoya's Central Station. In 1979, she and her husband, Masatsugu Matsumoto (g), performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival as Toshigo Miki & Inner Galaxy Orchestra. He is a legend in the crossover and fusion scene, and has been active in many fields, including film and TV music, such as the music for the movie "New Gokudo's Wives" (1993).The band includes Himiko Kikuchi (p, key, synth, voice), Masatsugu Matsumoto (g), Naoki Watanabe (b), Keiichi Ishibashi (b), Yasushi Ichihara (ds), Kakuo Okamoto (ds), Yoshinori Narumi (perc), Kenji Yoshida (tp), Yoichi Murata (tb, b-tb), Fumio Hayashi (fl, as, ts), and the strongest members of the Spectrum and AB'S groups. The music is inspired by the music of G. Bizet's opera "Carmen" and Spanish music, with a heavy rhythm section and a sharp horn section competing with each other. A masterpiece of Latin jazz and fusion music.
