Dream Theater has once again shown its presence as the king of progressive metal, winning the "Best Metal Performance" award at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022 and headlining Download Japan 2022 in August. Dream Theater has been regularly releasing their treasured live, demo, and studio outtakes as official bootlegs in the "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series. The 18th volume in the series is a demo of their 14th album, "Distance Over Time," which was released in February 2019 as their first release with Inside Out Music. Recorded at Yonder Barn, a secluded 5-acre studio in Monticello, NY, the album was produced in a camp format with all members sleeping and eating together for the first time in 20 years, and is a departure from the epic rock opera of their previous album, "The Astonishing," which was a tight band and The Astonishing" is a compact and melodious heavy tune produced by a tight band ensemble.
