Glenn Gould's most popular Bach recordings on 24 SACD hybrids, from his monumental 1955 Columbia debut of the "Goldberg Variations" to his 1981 re-recording of the same "Goldberg Variations," Gould's recording activities have been centered on Bach's Bach's works were at the center of Gould's recording activities. Gould himself was conscious of making comprehensive recordings of Bach's works, and as a result, major solo keyboard works were recorded, imprinting Bach interpretations that transcend instruments and time periods, such as clarity of structure, vividness in presenting complex polyphony, and submerged songs. This is the latest edition of the "Complete Bach Collection," which has become a standard since it was first released in Japan in 1974, and includes Bach recordings for Columbia and Sony Classical released before Gould's death.
