Live at the Bon Soir," which was to be Barbra Streisand's debut album, is being released for the first time to celebrate the 60th anniversary of her contract with Columbia Records. Barbra was working on Broadway while pursuing her acting career, and after winning a contest, she was invited to perform at the Bon Soir nightclub in New York City. Her performance was well received, and the New York Times at the time praised her as "stunningly young, stylish and fresh, with an outstandingly vibrant voice. A project to record this stage performance for her debut album was underway, but Barbra wanted it to be a studio recording, so the live recording remained unreleased and in her vaults for a long time. This time, the original master tape was remixed and remastered, bringing back to life a brilliant performance in which the singer, despite being only 20 years old, skillfully sang the standards. This is a precious record of the sparkle of young Barbra's talent, which has great potential.
