This is a 2-disc compilation album of newly recorded studio & previously unreleased live performances by legendary singer/songwriter Danny O'Keefe, who has been active since the 60s and has been covered by many famous artists. Disc 1 features 17 studio tracks (including classic self covers) recorded between 1999 and 2018, and Disc 2 features previously unreleased live recordings, including the classic "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues" and "The Road," also classic (2016 recorded at the Creek House in St. Paul, Minnesota). Danny O'Keefe, born in 1943, is a singer/songwriter who made his solo debut in 1966 with Introducing Danny O'Keefe; in 1968, he released the album Steamed with the band Calliope; in 1970, he released Danny O'Keefe again as a solo artist; in 1973, he released the album O'Keefe with the band Calliope; in 1969, he released the album O'Keefe with the band Calliope. In 1972, "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues," a song from "O'Keefe," became a million-seller. In addition, "The Road" was covered by Jackson Browne on his hit album "The Lonely Runner", raising his profile.In 1973, he co-wrote "Well Well Well" with Bob Dylan, and "Magdalena" was covered by Danny Hathaway and others. After that, he has been releasing albums consistently, and many of his masterpieces have been covered by Elvis Presley, Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Ben Harper, etc. After 1980, he stopped releasing albums, but has been active mainly in live performances. In 2020, he will release a new album, "Looking Glass & The Dreamers," showing that he is still going strong.
