Gustave Eiffel took on the challenge of designing the tower that would become the symbol of the Paris Exposition of 1889. However, the days leading up to its completion were a long and arduous road. How did Eiffel overcome the many challenges he faced? Why did he not give up? In fact, behind Eiffel's great achievement was the existence of the woman he loved. Gustave Eiffel is played by Romain Duris, who was nominated for the César Award for "The Midnight Pianist," and whose "The Typist! was also a big hit in Japan. Emma McKee (Murder on the Nile) stars as Adrienne, who falls in love with Eiffel but is torn apart by her parents, only to be reunited with him and fall madly in love all over again. The film is directed and written by Martin Bourbron, who has been selected to direct a two-part film adaptation of the blockbuster "The Three Musketeers," to be released in 2023. The music will be composed by Alexandre Desplat, a leading French composer who won the Academy Award for Best Composition for "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "The Shape of Water. Starting with the melancholy waltz as the main theme, Desplat's sublime and beautiful music expresses the romantic side and inner passion of the main character Eiffel. (C)RS
