Description:
Composer Kaitaro Abe, who continues to build a rich musical world in a variety of fields, has released a 12-inch analog record of his album "Le plus livre du monde," the most beautiful book in the world, in the fall of 2020. This album picks up the subtleties of people's lives in medieval France as depicted in the "Marquis de Berry's Sumptuous Book of Hours," a decorative manuscript that has been called "the most beautiful book in the world," and redraws them as melodies. The music, which makes full use of the expressive power of a variety of instruments, including mandolin and piano solo, music box, string quartet, woodwind quintet, and orchestra, was recorded and mixed in a 22.2-channel environment. Mastering was a key element of the project, as an analog version was planned for the soundtrack, and conversations with Eric James, an engineer from England with whom Abe had a close relationship, gave him 100% confidence. Cutting was also done locally, and was completed with the approval of the engineer after repeated viewings. The high-impact artwork, which is one of the most appealing aspects of analog, was created by the creative unit KIGI, and the set includes sheet music for the two piano solos included on the album. This is a work that has been thoughtfully considered for its significance in being made into a sound source now.
