Description:

The final day of Freddie Mercury's sixth and final show in Japan, May 15, 1985 at Osaka-jo Hall, was recorded for broadcast! Treasure Ark, a series that selects high-quality live recordings! This is a broadcast recording of Freddie Mercury's last performance in Japan, at Osaka-jo Hall on May 15, 1985, the last day of his sixth show in Japan. The year 1985 was a turning point in Queen's career, and although they had some hit singles in the 80's, they were becoming like an old entity due to the changing music trend. The "Works Tour" began in Brussels, Belgium on August 24, 1984, and in October 1984, the band played nine shows in apartheid South Africa.Queen faced international condemnation for going ahead with the event despite calls from the United Nations and the British Musicians Union to cancel it, but the subsequent first "Rock in Rio" in January 1985 was televised around the world, and the band's popularity was restored. Six months later, in July, the legendary "Live Aid" took place. The 1985 tour in Japan was the final leg of the "Works Tour," a five-show tour that took place between the two festivals, from May 8 to 15, 1985. The band was going through a period of ups and downs, and the relationship between the band members was deteriorating, and there was talk of a possible breakup, but when Freddie said in the MC, "Today is the last show of the tour, thank you," no one could have imagined that it would really be Freddie's last performance in Japan. No one could have imagined that it would really be Freddie's last performance in Japan. This is a memorial night that should be heard at least once, especially in Japan, where there are so many devoted Queen fans.
