(Original release: 1973/Hawk Records)Mushroom was formed in Dublin by Engus McAnally (g, vo), who later became a popular Irish TV presenter. Their only album featured psychedelic organ, electric violin, fuzz guitar, etc., and incorporated a variety of styles including progressive/hard/glam, but also clearly set out their Celtic roots within the context of Irish pop. Along with the Horselips' first album the year before, this is a masterpiece that became the starting point of Irish rock music that would later lead to the Thin Lizzy and the Pogues. Four single numbers from the era are included as bonus tracks.
