The sixth album and Japanese debut of Swedish melodic rock band Captain Blackbeard, formed in 2009, Captain Blackbeard released Captain Blackbeard (2011), Before Plastic (2014), and It's Mouthful (2016) in force. For their fourth album, "Struck by Lightning" (2018), the band has steadily gained a fan base despite a member change with H.E.A.T.'s Jonah Tee as producer. The band's fifth album, "Sonic Forces" (2020), was produced by Dave Dallon, also of H.E.A.T., as the band's 10th anniversary. With the addition of new vocalist Martin Hoslner, the album, which leans more toward 80's rock, became a hit with melodic rock enthusiasts. The band recently released their first single, "Flamenco," about which the band says, "When I read a review of our last album, Sonic Forces, the term 'disco AOR' was used to describe our music.I had never heard that expression before, but I kind of liked it, so I wrote this song with that word in mind. The energy and tempo of this song is perfect for the opening of the album, and it's also perfect for the opening of a live show, so of course it's perfect for the first single," he says. The new album will feature nostalgic melodies that will move listeners' hearts, incorporating elements of pop and disco into the 80's melodic rock that has been the band's musical style since their last album.
