Masked rapper MF Doom became an underground legend by pioneering the possibilities of alternative hip-hop. His debut album was released in 1999. Underneath the mysterious metal mask hides the fame that underground legend MF DOOM has built up after his first group KMD's second album "Black Bastards", which was to be released on Elektra, was put on hold and his blood brother, Subroc, passed away. After his brother Subroc passed away, surviving frontman Zev Love X gradually mutated into a highly ambitious MC known as MF DOOM. 1999's Operation: Doomsday, MF DOOM's debut album, would later become one of the greatest underground rap albums of all time. It reintroduced the enigmatic figure who would later become one of the greatest voices in underground rap. Comprised of 19 tracks, the album reveals the confluence of DOOM's tragic past, personal interests, and bold creativity.His clever rhymes and masterful schemes stood out, reinterpreting every sound he touched, from anime theme songs to 80s soul and rap classics, into something brand new and surreal.
