"Defense of Light," Op.52 (series of songs for baritone, flute, oboe, violin, cello and piano)/ 8. madrigal III, Impressions of Japan, Op.86-3/ 9-12. string quartets, Op.22 World premiere recording Performers Neo-Quartet, Günter Schwarze (carillon), etc. Recorded live in Germany from 2009 to 2019 German contemporary composer Günter Schwarze studied at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden and worked as a freelance theater composer from 1976 to 1979, as well as a cantor and organist for the Plauen and Folklandt.Since 1979 he has taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts Dresden, and after the fall of communism in 1993 he became professor of composition and music theory at his alma mater, the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music, where he held the positions of dean and head of the composition and music theory department from 2005 to 2010. Schwarze's works range from songs to operas, chamber music, and oratorios, as well as concertos, orchestral works, and more than 400 canons. He has also been performing as a player on porcelain and glass carillons for nearly 40 years. This album is a collection of world premiere recordings of chamber music works ranging from a work with a Japanese motif of "Sakura Sakura" that combines Japanese taste with the sound of the carillon to a string quartet.
