Anton Reck's "Lulu" is back here! Lulu, which once made a name for itself as "the greatest unknown performance of all time," is back again. First released by ARTENOVA, the predecessor of OEHMS, the performance was astonishing. Word of mouth spread about this gem, and it became a bestseller. It was performed live at the Teatro Massimo, using Berg's original 2-act version, and as is customary, the performance ends with a coda-like performance of the 4th "Variation" and 5th "Adagio" from the Lulu Suite after the 2nd act performance. (It is still fresh in our memories that in the 2004 New National Opera season, there were high expectations that Leck would come to Japan to perform a version in three acts with Tsaruha's addition, but in fact it was difficult to perform, so a version in two acts was chosen.) ) The "Lulu situation" in Japan must have changed dramatically over the past 10 years.
