The band debuted in 2009 with "THE EYE IS THE HEART MIRROR" as a solo project of Maximilian Stephan, a composer/multi-musician from Germany, and after the second album "ELYSIAN PLEASURES" in '13, the band developed into a permanent band including a wind instrument player. Since their second album "ELYSIAN PLEASURES" in '13, the band has developed into a permanent band and continues to creatively develop a post-rock sound that references 70s sounds such as VDGG and Canterbury Music/Krautrock, and lo-fi 90s stoner rock, while adding their own unique color, CARPET's '24 album is released on the Kapitän Platte label.
