The Kinks 60 Campaign, commemorating their 60th anniversary, will celebrate their illustrious musical journey and reaffirm their importance in popular music through a variety of events and releases over the next two years. An important milestone in the campaign is the two-part definitive anthology THE JOURNEY, the first installment of which will be released in THE JOURNELY - PART 1. The songs on THE JOURNEY - PART 1 were carefully selected by members Ray Davies, Dave Davies, and Mick Avory themselves, and curated around four themes inspired by the trials and tribulations of their lives together as a band since 1963. The physical release of "THE JOURNEY - PART 1" will be available in two formats: a 2-CD set and a 2-CD analog set, both of which will include a booklet featuring photos of the band and song descriptions by Ray, Dave, and Mick. The booklet also includes photos of the band and song descriptions by Ray, Dave, and Mick. The song descriptions in the booklet are very interesting as they tell in their own words their memories of the recording sessions and the wonderful story of The Kinks, along with the wonderful sound that is packed on the two discs.(2/2)
