The Kinks are still loved and respected by rock fans around the world as a too-British British rock band. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of their RCA-era masterpiece "All in the World is Show Business", the Kinks are bringing it back to life in 2022 with the latest remastered soundtrack! The Kinks, still loved and respected by rock fans all over the world as a too-British British rock band, signed a contract with RCA Records in 1971 and started a new chapter in their career. Freed from the single-hit obsession of their former label, PYE, Ray Davies' songwriting pushed the band in the direction of creating boldly themed, delicately personal concept albums that continued from "The Village Green Preservation Society" onward. The band's songwriting further propelled them in the direction of boldly themed, delicately personal concept albums that had been produced since "Village Green Preservation Society. In 1970, with the Top 10 hit "Lola" in both the U.K. and the U.S., this too-British band began to turn its attention to the U.S. "Muswell Hillbillies" was the first release to be transferred to RCA, and it was highly acclaimed. To coincide with its release, the band toured the United States, including a two-night run in 1972 at the historic Carnegie Hall in New York City. The shows, which naturally featured many of the songs from "The Muswell Hillbillies," were recorded and released on the following year's double album, "EVERYBODY'S IN SHOW BIZ-EVERYBODY'S A STAR," one half of which was released in 1972. STAR)," which would make up one half of the album. The album includes live recordings as well as studio recordings of The Kinks' own witty and humorous depictions of the rock band's tour-soaked days in the U.S. The album will also include the finale, a live performance by the Kinks' own "The Kinks," which will be released on the label's website. The album's finale, "Hero on Celluloid," in which Ray Davies captures the bittersweetness of the American dream through the prism of Hollywood, was a hit that represented a new chapter for The Kinks. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, "Everybody's In Show Biz-Everybody's A Star" will be remastered and reissued in 2022.The original album was remastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearant using the original master tapes, plus an additional bonus track, a 2022 remix of the classic "Heroes on Celluloid". The digipak jacket also includes new liner notes with comments from the band and a booklet with many photos. The Kinks, who have a devoted fan base around the world and have had an immeasurable influence on Oasis, Blur, and other Brit Rock and Brit Pop bands, have captured an important era in their long history and are now back with a new soundtrack!
