Sepultura
Description:
The most powerful tribal heaviness roaring out of South America! Sepultura, a Brazilian metal band born in 1984, has been taking the world by storm with its thrashy and tribal heavy sound. Sepultura left their old home at Roadrunner Records and signed a new contract with SPV, where they sharpened their heaviness and groove to define the sound of the new Sepultura, full of themselves. The album is now available in 180-gram heavy analog format, mastered at half speed! Sepultura is a metal act from Brazil that has reigned supreme in the heavy music scene with its electrifying sound and charismatic presence. Formed by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, they have had a tremendous influence on subsequent thrash/new metal/groove metal acts through their insatiable pursuit of heaviness in the late 80s and 90s.After Max Cavalera left the band in 1996, the band welcomed Derrick Green as their new vocalist. Since then, the band has continued to release albums on various labels, and has continued to share their mighty heavy groove with the world. Last December, they released a box set "SEPULNATION - THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1998-2009," a compilation of studio albums released from 1998 to 2009, the second period of their career. The album "ROORBACK", which was also included in the box set, is now being released as a stand-alone album. Like the box set, this album also features a 2021 remastered soundtrack with additional tracks from the 2002 covers EP "REVOLUSONGS".ROORBACK" is the third album by the lineup with Derrick Green as frontman, and the ninth album in total for Sepultura. This album was released after the band left their old label, Roadrunner Records, and signed a new contract with SPV, and it can be said to be a "fresh start," partly because of the label transfer, and the band has developed a sound with a linear heaviness and sharpened groove that is unique to them. This work showed the scene a new Sepultura presence that far surpassed the "Max Cavalera or Derrick Green" debate that had always been held up to that point. Also included on DISC 2 is the cover EP "Revolusongs," released in November 2002, just prior to the release of this album, which covered songs by artists such as U2, Massive Attack, Divo, Exodus, and Hellhammer in the Sepultura style and became a big hit. The soundtrack of "REVOLUSONGS" is also included on DISC 2.
