The "John Passion" is one of J.S. Bach's masterpieces. The first performance was given on April 7, 1724, on the first Good Friday after J.S. Bach became cantor (Thomas cantor/choral director), by the St. Thomas Church Choir (also known as St. Thomas Church Boys Choir, St. Thomas Church Choir Leipzig, etc.), a Leipzig boys choir with a history spanning some 800 years. The concert was held on the first Good Friday after J.S. Bach took office as cantor.In 2024, exactly 300 years after the first performance, the choir of St. Thomas Church and Andreas Reitze, who became the 18th cantor after J.S. Bach in September 2021, will release a recording of the "1724 First Draft Version"! Recording of the "1724 First Draft Version" is released! Please enjoy the sound of the first performance as it was 300 years later. Andreas Reisse (Andreas Reise) was born in 1975 in Solothurn, Switzerland. He studied church music, keyboard, choral and orchestra conducting in Bern, Zurich, Lucerne, Basel and Graz. Since then, he has been invited to conduct in many theaters and concert halls, and he has also led the Cantus Films Consort, a period instrument ensemble he founded, to make the world premiere recording on the Rondeau label of the complete Neapolitan version of Monteverdi's great work "The Crowning of Poppea" (ROP The orchestra's activities have been expanding and attracting more and more attention.In July 2023, he released his first recording as cantor, "J.S.
