Mozart (1756-1791)

Description:

apollo ensemble makes its first appearance at querstand! The Apollo Ensemble, an ancient music orchestra led by David Rabinovitch, is coming to QUERSTAND and will perform two popular classical symphonies, Mozart's Large G minor Symphony and Schubert's Fifth Symphony. David Rabinovitch was born in 1959 in Nikolaiu, Soviet-era Ukraine. After studying with the famous violinist and teacher Zakhar Bron, he studied ancient music at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the Netherlands from 1994 to 2000. Since then, he has played violin in period orchestras in Amsterdam and London, and since 2000 he has been the music director of the Apollo Ensemble, a period orchestra in Amsterdam founded in 1992, which is gaining recognition. In this CD, Rabinovitch, who has honed his skills with numerous old music groups, brings his experience to full life in this performance. In the Great G minor Symphony, Rabinovitch has dispensed with the Romanticism of the work, and instead of playing the work in an exciting and wild manner, he has rooted the performance in the style of the time of its premiere, with all repeats performed, to bring the original form of the work clearly to life in this unusual masterpiece. The first draft without clarinet was used.Schubert's Fifth Symphony, on the other hand, is basically played in the style of early classical music, and within the scope of that, the dark romanticism that leads to the Unfinished Symphony and the Great C Major Symphony is skillfully brought out to create a good flavor. This is the kind of performance one can expect from the Apollo Ensemble led by David Rabinovich in the future. Tobu Shoji Co.
