Chopin (1810-1849)

Description:

New Recording of Joaquin Achuaro, Master Pianist from Spain! Joaquin Achuaro is one of Spain's most famous pianists. Although Chopin has been an important part of his repertoire, there have not been many recordings of his music. Here comes a collection of Chopin's works centered around 24 preludes. -It took me a long time to record the "Preludes," but that is because I wanted to make this collection complete. But that was because I wanted to feel that I had completely "owned" this collection. In other words, he waited until the "Preludes" had become ingrained in his subconscious. This may be somewhat similar to the process of developing a friendship with someone. In any case, I was ready to open the door to the recording studio. Recording was a very happy experience! -Chopin's music was a very happy experience," says Atiukalo. The recording reproduces the spiritual movement that Chopin put into each piece without fail. The performance of the middle part of the Fantasy Impromptu, for example, will change the way you think about Chopin. The virtuoso Achuaro's performance of Chopin is a must-see. Joaquin Achuaro (profile)Born in Bilbao in 1936.He made his concert debut in Bilbao, playing Mozart's Piano Concerto K.466 at the age of just 13. Before eventually winning the first prize at the Liverpool International Competition in May 1959, Joaquin Achuaro had a number of decisive encounters. He studied in Madrid with Jose Cubilles. He then studied with Guido Agosti at the Siena Quiziana Conservatory and with Walter Gieseking, Nikita Magaloff, and Bruno Seidlhofer. After winning the first prize at the Liverpool International Competition, Atticulo was on the world stage, and as early as 1960, he performed Schumann's piano concerto solo in Trieste (conducted by Claudio Abbado, shortly after his debut), and gave his first recital in Germany. Since then, he has performed with orchestras around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and Tokyo Philharmonic, in concerto repertoire ranging from the Romantic period to the early 20th century.Zubin Mehta praised Achuaro, saying, "Only Rubinstein could produce this sound," and Simon Rattle exclaimed, "Only a handful of musicians can bring out a sound like his from the piano. Achuaro himself stated, "All my life I have been searching for a sound on the piano that would suggest and evoke a song. Passing on the art of piano performance is another passion of his, and for several years now he has been training younger students at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
