Colette Maz, a master pianist who studied with Cortot, is now 107 years old. This set includes Debussy from his previous recordings! Colette Mazes was born on June 16, 1914 in Paris, studied under Alfred Cortot at the Ecole Normale from 1935 to 1940, and as of April 2021, she is 107 years old! As of April 2021, he is a whopping 107 years old! He is still practicing daily at home, and his performances have been featured on TV programs in France and other European countries, as well as in newspapers. It is surprising that Ravel, Debussy, Fauré, and Satie were all alive in 1914, the year Maz was born. Furthermore, Colette's husband, Emile Maz (second violinist of the Orchestre Colonne), born in Le Havre in 1876, was a friend of Satie's during her lifetime. Colette absorbed a great deal from her husband, her teacher Cortot, and various other musicians who have left their mark on the history of music, and even today, in 2021, she is still sincerely devoted to the piano, refining "the most precious art in the world".
