The members are Shuichi Okada (violin), Manuel Viok-Jud (viola), and Bunjun Kim (cello). The group was formed in 2018 by three members who met at the International Academy presided over by Seiji Ozawa. Each member has won prizes at world-class competitions (Primrose, Tartis, Markneukirchen, R. Lipitzer) and made their CD debut in 2021 with Beethoven's Three String Trios (MIR 550). The theme of this disc is "Night," a collection of Hungarian music from the early 20th century.Transylvanian Nights" by Leiter, a student and connoisseur of Bartók's, is a folkloric work that also incorporates images of the mountains and meadows that change with the seasons in Transylvania. The masterpieces by Kodaly and Dohnányi also have a bewitching flavor reminiscent of the Belle Epoque in Austria-Hungary. (King International)
