The Modigliani String Quartet, which has been called "the finest quartet in the world today" (South German Newspaper), celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013, and is a quartet that is sure to continue to mature and develop its ensemble. The quartet's collection of modern French string quartets (MIR188/KKC5305), which includes works by Debussy, Saint-Saens, and Ravel, was highly acclaimed for its fresh ensemble and rich expressiveness, and was selected as a special selection by Record Geijutsu (Record Arts). This album is a collection of Haydn's string quartets, which he also featured in his first album on the MIRARE label (MIR065).
