Leszar Florissant launches a collection of Monteverdi's Madrigale under the baton of the renowned old-time tenor Agnew! Leszar Florissant's new collection of recordings of Monteverdi's Madrigale is now available! Paul Agnew, a renowned British tenor and conductor, has been conducting Les Arts Florissant in a series of concerts of Monteverdi's Madrigale, and is now releasing a CD of selections from the live recordings. In March 2014, Agnew conducted a production of Rameau's "Plate" in Vienna. This recording is a testament to the good relationship between Agnew and Les Arts Florissants. Agnew not only conducts, but also participates as tenor in several pieces.The special paper case containing the CD, a bilingual Italian-English-French booklet with commentary and lyrics, and a short story "The Priestess and the Fantasy Frescoes" (translated into French and English) written for this CD by French author René de Sécati (1952-) are all housed in a beautiful slipcase.
