The Casals String Quartet, the pride of Spain, is a string quartet that often visits Japan. They often visit Japan and have won a wide fan base with their natural and beautiful sound. This chorale was said to have been written by Bach on his deathbed, and we do not know from whom the idea to include it in the first edition of the "Technique de la Fuge" came. However, this chorale seems to be a tribute or farewell to the masterpiece "Technique de la fugue". The Casals String Quartet's performance of "Technique de la Fuge" sings spontaneously and does not get caught up in the complex intertwining lines of counterpoint, but it is still a very relaxing way to end the CD after the special atmosphere of the "Technique de la Fuge. ＜Formed in 1997, the Casals String Quartet won the first prize at the International String Quartet Competition in London (now Wigmore Hall) in 2000 (Yehudi Menuhin Prize), the first prize at the Brahms International String Quartet Competition in Hamburg in 2002, and many other top prizes at international competitions.
