Following the 2023 masterpiece "DYSTOPIA" and the CALM-supervised LP "IMAGES AND ANTHEMS - BOOK I", this is a great new age ambient line of work. !!!! 2016's "NOMAD EP" and 2017's "MASSAI", which sampled music from sub-Saharan Africa to expand their own expression. Defining the desert as a place of transformation, the sound world of vastness and beauty was highly acclaimed. After "DYSTOPIA" in 2023, which was built around electronic music and acoustic improvisation and thrilled many enthusiasts in the context of ambient~new age, this work "NOMAD LP" was completed after facing "NOMAD" and seeking new expression. The depth of Latin jazz, fusion, and ECM, the "4th world" perspective of JON HASSELL, and the African music that inspired the "NOMAD EP" and "MASSAI" are blended together like paint. A more analog approach is taken with hand percussion, kalimba, piano, voice samples, bass, acoustic guitar, and electronic guitar. The modular sound, which also played a major role in "DYSTOPIA," was used to combine improvisation with a traditional compositional approach. The finished piece was carefully edited, tweaked, and reworked, with a lengthy finishing process before completion. As you can hear, the sound design is impeccable and optimized for a headphone listening environment, while also being dance floor focused.
