Description:

Larry Goldings, Peter Bernstein, and Bill Stuart, three of the most talented musicians on the contemporary jazz scene, present a legitimate organ trio! After releasing albums with the same members on German labels in 2014 and 2018, Lonnie Smith, Lee Konitz, and Jimmy Cobb, who particularly influenced the trio, have passed away. This album is also a tribute album dedicated to all three of them. Larry Goldings, an organist who has gained great trust from such megastars as Paul Simon, Maceo Parker, and Steve Gadd. Guitarist Peter Bernstein, a disciple of Jim Hall who has performed with numerous jazz legends including Ron Carter, Sonny Rollins, and Lou Donaldson. Bill Stuart, a versatile drummer who has been used by some of the most charismatic musicians of our time, including Pat Metheny and John Scofield. These three musicians, who have been playing together from time to time since the 1990s, have reunited. This is a remarkable work in the tradition of the orthodox and modern Hammond B3 organ trio. The album was recorded in July 2021, just as the second pandemic was beginning to show signs of recovery and people were becoming more hopeful, at the renowned recording studio in midtown Manhattan, "Shear Sound Studio A," where Goldings produced his second album "Light Blue" with Bernstein and Stewart 30 years earlier. The album was recorded at Sear Sound Studio A, the renowned recording studio in midtown Manhattan where the Goldings produced their second album, Light Blue, with Bernstein and Stewart 30 years ago. The 11 tracks on this album include a good balance of original compositions by the three musicians, beginning with Wayne Shorter's original and ending with John Lewis' "Django," which features orthodox and profound interplay between the three musicians. This is a remarkable work for fans of orthodox jazz.
