Pink Floyd's "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" (Japanese title: Hikari - PERFECT LIVE!) has been remixed, restored and re-edited! Delicate Sound Of Thunder" (1988 "Depression" Tour) has been remixed, remastered, restored and re-edited to the highest possible quality, and is now available as a 2CD The new album will be released in five formats: 2CD, Blu-ray, DVD, 3LP, and a deluxe box set (2CD+Blu-ray+DVD 4-disc set with bonus tracks). The first world tour in 10 years started in September 1987, right after the release of the new Pink Floyd's 16th album "Depression/A Momentary Lapse of Reason" (multi-platinum), and the band toured the world, including Japan, until July 1989. The tour lasted approximately two years, with a total of 198 concerts and 4.25 million people in attendance." It was a legendary tour that was a great success and was called "a great spectacle show of light and sound. From this tour, the final show of the first leg, August 19-23, 1988, at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, was recorded and released as Pink Floyd's first full-length live recording at the time.This is a long-awaited reissue for those who experienced the 1988 concert in Japan. For those who experienced the 1988 Japan tour, this is the long-awaited reissue that will bring back the excitement of that concert. The new version of "Delicate Sound Of Thunder," which captures Pink Floyd's second heyday, includes the complete live album and concert footage (restored and re-edited from the original 35mm film) that was also included in the box set "The Later Years" released in December 2019. The original 35mm film has been restored and re-edited with improved sound quality in 5.1 surround sound), along with new packaging and booklets. All formats will include a 24-page photo booklet. The new version of "Light - Perfect Live!" was painstakingly restored and converted to 4K from the original 35mm negative film, which was stored in over 100 film cans that had lain dormant for years. The restored and upgraded footage was completely re-edited by Benny Trickett under the creative direction of Aubrey Powell (Hypnosis).The sound was similarly remixed entirely from the original multi-track tape by longtime Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson, along with Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, with Damon Edins as his assistant. The set list was a perfect balance of then-new songs and Pink Floyd classics, including songs from "Madness" ("Time," "Running Around," "Empty Scat," "As and Then"), the anthemic title track from "Flame - Wish You Were Here," "The Wall" from " Comfortably Nam" and the cathartic "Run Like Hell," while the 2CD version features the powerful "Phantom Wings," the lyrical "Difference from Reality," and all the tracks from "Depression."
