After being trained by Valery Gradov, Sashko Gavrilov, and Hermann Krebers, he has performed with the world's leading orchestras and conductors since 1983, as well as at prominent music festivals. In 2008, he was awarded the First Class Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. A violinist of outstanding achievement and integrity, Frank Peter Zimmermann has maintained the highest level of achievement as a soloist, concerto and chamber musician for decades. as the New York Times wrote, "Zimmermann's style is absolutely pristine. based on a technique that is absolutely pristine and a genuine ability to allow the music to unfold and develop at a natural pace.
