Earl Sweatshirt is a rapper from Los Angeles who has been active as a member of the alternative hip-hop crew ODD FUTURE, and is now attracting attention as a solo artist as a "generation-reppening talent". Born and raised in the rich soil of California, the birthplace of various cultural movements and the birthplace of hip-hop, to a South African poet and political activist father, Keoraptse Kgositsile, and a University of California law professor, Cheryl Harris, Earl began his career as a rapper in 2008. He began his career as a rapper around 2008.He first went by the name Sly Tendencies, but started calling himself Earl Sweatshirt when he was invited by Tyler the Creator to join ODD FUTURE. The then 16-year-old first came to the attention of the scene with the release of "Earl," which was produced by Tyler the Creator and Left Brain and dropped in 2010.
