Dutch conductor Jaap van Zweden has been appointed Music Director of the prestigious New York Philharmonic for the 2018-2019 season. Last March 2018, he led the New York Philharmonic on a tour of Japan, where he captivated audiences with his incomparable musicality. Around the time of his visit, he released his debut album on Decca Gold with Beethoven: Symphonies Nos. 5 & 7, which attracted much attention, and this second release is a live recording of Debussy: The Sea and Stravinsky's innovative The Rite of Spring, made in 2018, when he became Music Director.
