The ultimate record of a concert that lets you listen as if you were there on that historic day, racial tensions rose across the United States after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968. Palo Alto, a predominantly white college town in California, was also affected. Danny Sherr, a rising senior at Palo Alto High School, had a dream to invite Thelonious Monk to perform in Palo Alto to promote racial unity in the community and to raise funds for the school's International Committee. Step back in time to October 27, 1968, when the Palo Alto High School auditorium was sold out and Thelonious Monk and his quartet gave an outstanding performance. This limited edition LP captures this historic concert as it was recorded by an as yet unknown high school custodian. The identity of the recording artist remains a mystery, but the power of Monk's music and the original recording is certain.
