The only full live concert filmed with the classic lineup of Ritchie Blackmore/Ronnie James Dio/Cozy Powell is re-released "Live in Munich 1977," recorded on October 20 at Munich's Olympia Hall in Germany during the 1977 European tour. Live in Munich 1977" is a complete video recording (with 2 CDs) of the classic lineup of Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio and Cozy Powell. Rainbow was the brainchild of legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who formed the band in 1975 after leaving Deep Purple. The group enjoyed immediate success with a string of hit albums and continued until 1983, when Blackmore disbanded the group (and rejoined Deep Purple). Featuring Blackmore, Cozy Powell (drums), Bob Daisley (bass), David Stone (keyboards), and Ronnie James Dio, the night was filled with excitement.This was due in part to the fact that Ritchie had been arrested for assault after the previous Vienna show and was released just before this show to enter the venue, thereby inspiring both the band and the audience, leading to the uncanny performance of the day. The live version of "Kill the King," the studio version of which had not been released at the time, "Mistreated" from the Deep Purple era, "Still I'm Sad," which has become one of the Rainbow Classics beyond the Yardbirds' covers, and the encore of "Do You Close? The DVD includes bonus footage of the original promo videos for "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll," "The Gates of Babylon" and "L.A. Connection," a photo gallery, a slideshow with audio commentary, an interview, and an additional bonus video for "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll," "The Gates of Babylon" and "L.A.
