Rare compilation of "Cancion Yucateca," a song from the Yucatan region of Mexico, is now being released as a domestic production! Takemura Office & Sambinha, which has been producing compilation discs focusing on good old Latin music, is now releasing a new one. This time, we are pleased to present a new compilation focusing on the music of the Yucatan region of Mexico, Cancion Yucateca (Yucatecan songs). Mexico is a country about five times the size of Japan. Therefore, each region has its own unique customs and culture. In particular, the Yucatan Peninsula, which juts out into the Caribbean Sea, was once the land of the Mayan Empire of the Indians, and its descendants still live there today. The Yucatan Peninsula is also close to Cuba, which is located on the other side of the Caribbean Sea, and has long been a place of exchange, fostering a unique culture. The music of the Yucatán region, Canción Yucateca (Yucatecan songs), has an unforgettable charm, and it was Guti Cárdenas (1905 - 1932), a native of the same region who wrote and sang the songs himself, who first made their excellence known throughout Mexico and the world.He left for Mexico City at the age of 18 and died at the young age of 27, but his work in spreading the appeal of Yucatan songs deserves special mention. This work, "A Collection of Lyric Songs from the Yucatan Region of Mexico," is a representative work left by Cárdenas, and also features more than ten Yucatecan songs, including "Mayab's Traveler" and "Nunca," which were first introduced in Japan by Los Torres Diamantes' performance, and other popular songs by Ricardo Palmerin and Pepe Dominguez, The 27 popular songs by outstanding composers such as Ricardo Palmerin, Pepe Dominguez, and Domingo Casanova have been selected to provide a quick introduction to the diversity and excellence of the lyric songs of the Yucatan region. The songs are sung and performed by Hermanos Martinez Hill, who is well known for his Yucatan songs, and his relatives Alfredo Hill and his trio Los Panchos, Lupe & Raoul, and others, and are performed by a wide variety of talented singers. The quality of the sound is quite different from other recordings due to the age of the recording, so we have included a bonus track that allows the audience to hear Guti Cárdenas' own singing and performance.We hope you will take note of this work, which focuses on Yucatan songs, which have rarely been released on Japanese vinyl, despite their greatness.
