This is the 20th installment of the 30-year-old "Night Party" series, an original stage expression of Miyuki Nakashima's songs. Yakai VOL.20 "Little Tokyo" is the first original written work in five years since the previous Yakai VOL.18 "Arcadia under the Bridge", which was performed 20 times at the TBS Akasaka ACT Theater in Tokyo from January 30 to February 27, 2019, drawing a total of 26,000 people. Set in Hokkaido in midwinter, the play depicts the story of two sisters who are tossed about by an irresistible destiny of human "greed" and "love" that happens on "Little Tokyo," a small stage in a corner of a classic hotel and pub in a rugged mountainous region. In addition to Miyuki Nakajima, the cast includes Machiko Watanabe, singer-songwriter Takumi Ishida, former Takarazuka Revue member Yoko Ueno, Chiaki Kosaka, and Miyashita Fumikazu, who is well known for his live chorus with Miyuki Nakajima, further emphasizing "song" in this work. The overwhelming songs arranged by Kazumi Seo, a legendary producer who has been working with Miyuki Nakajima for 30 years, dance choreographed by Lucky Ikeda, comedic acting, and tearful scenes that will move you to tears, are just some of the highlights of the 32 songs sung in this production. The performance is full of highlights. This eye- and ear-opening 1 hour and 50 minutes of the story includes many zoomed-in images of Miyuki Nakajima's singing scenes and the performances of each cast member, as well as realistic camera work that captures the entire stage. This video work allows even first-time viewers to enjoy the charm and world of "Night Party" and the story of this production in an easy-to-understand manner. This film is a must-see for all Miyuki Nakajima fans, not to mention the fans who were moved by the actual performance.
