Tom Odell, the UK's No. 1 singer/songwriter, has evolved and deepened with his second album in three years. Tom Odell won the Critics Award at the Brit Awards in 2012 even before his debut, and has collaborated with the famous British brand Burberry, including the use of his music in an overseas commercial and live performances for their collection. Their debut album, released on Lily Allen's label in 2013, debuted at No. 1 on the UK album chart and was enthusiastically received in Japan, where they made their first visit to Japan at the Fuji Rock Festival in the same year. About the new album, their first in about three years, Tom Odell said the following: "The songs are magnificent and dramatic. I wanted to write songs that were epic and dramatic. I wanted to write epic, dramatic songs with an emphasis on gorgeous strings and memorable melodies. The new album is "the story of a man trapped in his own childhood. He is searching for innocence in this dirty world he lives in. It's a fictional story, but the emotions and thoughts in it are ones I've felt before. I wanted the story to be realistic.Tom Odell's powerful, tender, and sad voice and beautiful piano melodies are still there, but the band's sound has been strengthened, evolved, and deepened, making "Long Cloud" a pleasant surprise that is sure to be a hot topic this summer.
