A great performance by the next generation of principal conductors of the Mozarteum Orchestra! The Mozarteum Orchestra, born under the patronage of Constanze Mozart, is in fact a full 91-member organization capable of performing a wide variety of repertoire. Now, Berliner Klassiks is launching a series of six discs beginning with Mozart, the core of the orchestra's program, and continuing with Richard Strauss, Anton Bruckner, and Hans Werner Henze. The first album is a Mozart serenade album with a crisp and pleasant sound. ＜Roberto González-Monjas (conductor, violin) was born in Valladolid, Spain in 1988. After studying at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, he served as concertmaster of the Orquesta di Santa Cecilia for six years, and will be principal conductor of the Dala Sinfonietta in Sweden in 2019, and will assume his current position in 2021. He will serve as principal conductor of the Winterthur Musikkollegium, and in 2024 he will be appointed principal conductor of the Mozarteum Orchestra.CDs are available from Berlin Classics, Claves, etc. ＜The Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra was founded in 1841 by Konstanze Mozart (1762-1842) to perform religious music in the cathedral in Salzburg. After some twists and turns, it took on its present name in 1908 and continues to this day. Although it has 91 members, most of its actual activities are as a chamber orchestra, which is why it is widely known as a chamber orchestra. CDs are Berlin Classics, SONY Classical, Deutsche Grammophon, ORFEO, OEHMS, Victor, Solo Musica, Alpha, and others.
