The legendary Uncle Waltz Band, one of the originators of Americana/alternative country, was formed in the South Carolinas by singer/songwriter Walter Hyatt, who was described as the "Godfather of Americana Music" and sadly passed away in a plane crash in Florida in 1996. After their debut independently produced album in 1974, Armadillo Records, which was in the process of negotiating a contract with Warner, selected the Uncle Waltz Band for a recording session as a band to promote their music. The recording session was to be a seven-song set. Originally, they planned to record seven songs, but the band's performance was so great that they continued recording, eventually recording 22 songs, three of which were previously released as bonus tracks. Three of the songs were previously included as bonuses, but the remaining 19 songs are completely unreleased. As a result, the contract between Armadillo and Warner was never signed, but the remaining recordings are unquestionably the finest performances and songs ever recorded. This is an amazing release that is a must have for all lovers of American Rock and Americana, from The Band to the rest of the world.
