Description:
Conducted by Oramo, Boreyko and Brabbins! Transparent and beautiful sound. A collection of orchestral works by Swedish composer Borissov-Ollas! A city where the birds do not sing and the bells do not ring is dead. Munich is without doubt the most dynamic city in modern Europe, based on the intensity with which it rings its bells every day" (Borissov-Ollas). Beginning with an orchestral work commissioned by the Munich Philharmonic and the Munich City Council on the occasion of the city's 850th anniversary, "Angelus" is a "portrait" album of orchestral music by Swedish composer Borissov-Ollas. Victoria Borisova-Ollas Victoria Borisova-Ollas was born in Moscow in 1969. She has lived and composed in Sweden since 1993.Her works have been performed by orchestras around the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, and her 2017 opera Dracula (Dracula), premiered at the Royal Swedish Opera House, sold out for two seasons. He is a member of the Swedish Society of Composers. He is an elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Angelus," which takes its name from the "bell" that signals the beginning of the "Prayer of the Annunciation" in the Catholic Church, is a 22-minute work that begins with a melody reminiscent of a Celtic chant as "a very vague greeting from the olden times. Borissois-Ollas composed the piece in memory of "the first bell rung in the center of the future city of Munich by a solitary monk who "never lost faith in us, no matter how many times our faith in the Lord was lost. On June 8, 2008, Sylvain Cambrelin conducted the Munich Philharmonic in the premiere performance.Borissov-Ollas has written several works related to the "Psalms" of the Old Testament, including "Wings of the Wind" (1997), a symphonic poem based on "Psalm 104," which won second prize in the "Masterprize International Composition Competition" in England (1998) and first brought her to international recognition. He has written several works related to the "Psalms" of the Old Testament. The "Kingdom of Silence," which refers to "the mysterious land we will go to after our lifetime," was inspired by the free translation of Psalm 94 from the Russian version of the Bible. It begins as a "lullaby" with glockenspiel and celesta, and then moves into a "dream. Composed in memory of Russian composer Nikolai Korndorf (1947-2001), the piece was premiered at the Gothenburg Art Sound (GAS) festival, which commissioned the work. (1/2) King International
