The Vivaldi Project is an ensemble formed in 2006.Led by Field on violin and Vial on cello, the group performs in a variety of configurations. Each member has released numerous CDs of Baroque and Classical repertoire on Deutsche Grammophon, Hungaroton, Naxos, Delos, Dorian, and other well-known labels. The tenor, noted in Joseph Schmidt's Trio in G major, is a string instrument larger in size than the viola (alto). It is not used very often nowadays. In this case, it is believed that the tenor is played on viola. Although played by a period instrument, the recording is rich in resonance and soft in tone. The hall tones are moderately perceptible, creating a pleasant spatial effect. The performance is clear and free of any staleness, and has a very pleasant aftertaste. (Tobu Shoji)
