The 10th release in the series features the second appearance of the current principal conductor, Esa-Pekka Salonen, in Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique"! In the first release after assuming the position of Chief Conductor, the orchestra suddenly released Schoenberg's "Glee Songs" (SIGCD 173) in "SACD Hybrid format," a daring program that was well received by the public and made the Philharmonia Orchestra a household name. Salonen is in the Philharmonia Orchestra! Salonen has made a strong impression on the world with his "Philharmonia Orchestra has Salonen!Salonen made his debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1983 as a substitute for Michael Tilson Thomas, and later served as Principal Guest Conductor from 1985 to 1994. The "Symphonie fantastique," which is the product of the strong relationship of trust between the two conductors that has developed over more than 20 years, is very likely to have an even greater impact than the "Songs of Goulet! After serving as Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Salonen returned to the Philharmonia Orchestra as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director in the 2008/2009 season.
