A cry from the heart of a genius female composer from Russia. The Delta Piano Trio was founded in Salzburg in 2013 by three young Dutch players. A reliable group that focuses on contemporary music. Their latest album is a collection of works by Leila Auerbach, a Russian-born, US-based musician. Known as a literary scholar, she has a unique view of life and death, and her vain struggle to escape the inevitable darkness is evident in her music. Her new work, Piano Trio No. 4, is a shocking work in which the sound of funeral bells suggests doom, and violent sounds and wailing trills continue without relief to the end. Piano Trio No. 3, a revision of the old work, embodies the importance of the visual aspect of performance for Auerbach. It is a work of performance as well as music. But this piece also reflects her aesthetic, in which dreams are shattered at the end. The album title "Milking Darkness" is a piano piece from 2011. It aptly describes the intense influence of her work, which "brings out the darkness," as mixing all colors of paint results in black.
