Gretzky, who created a sensation with his "Symphony of Lamentations," composed this majestic oratorio in 1997 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Adalbert of Prague. Originally scheduled to be premiered during Pope John Paul II's pilgrimage to Poland, it was not realized due to the composer Gretzky's illness. Later, his son, Mikowai Gretzki, discovered the oratorio's manuscript in his father's archives, and it was premiered on November 4, 2015, five years after Gretzki's death, at a gala concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of the ICE Krakow Congress Center! The presence of soprano Eva Trautsch and well-proven baritone Stanislaw Kuhluk is not to be missed. Tokyo M-Plus
